International Travel Project
I created a guide to Virtual Study Abroad so students who have missed out on the opportunity to travel internationally can still gain benefits that come from this experience.
For my project, I created a guide to Virtual Study Abroad that provides myself and other students the opportunity to talk with native Spanish speakers virtually since traveling abroad has been restricted due to COVID-19. My project addresses the need to gain more experience when learning a new language outside of the classroom. As a result, I have made an aesthetically pleasing and easy to follow infographic/guide explaining how to carry out the project. This project will hopefully be displayed on the RLL department website so all students can access it. My biggest takeaway from this project is that not everything is going to go as planned, and it is okay to ask for help. My project started out with the plan for myself to carry out the interviews and then create a blog post with the new information I learned. I was unable to do this for a few reasons, however I was able to work through the problems and create a project that I am proud of. I believe that other students could benefit from projects like this because it provides a fun and challenging experience that one is not likely to have anywhere other than ELN. Overall, I feel as though I gained a lot of experience through this project that is going to help me in my future career as a Spanish teacher.
